Softwood gates are made from kiln dried Scandinavian Red Deal.

Hardwood gates are made from Meranti, Iroko and Idigbo.

Hardwood gates are supplied in a natural state for finishing by others.

Because timber is a natural product it is not possible to guarantee the colours or shades of the timbers used.

It is very important that a protective coating is applied prior to the gates being hung.

Softwood Treatment
A good quality primer undercoat, followed by two coats of an exterior quality top coat.

Hardwood Treatment
We recommend Sikkens systems, or similar, for our hardwood gates. A Sikkens Cetol HLS base coat followed by two coats (minimum) of Cetol Filter 7 or Cetol THB. (www.sikkens.co.uk)
