All our woods are sourced from sustainable forests.
Softwood gates are made from kiln dried Scandinavian Red Deal.
Hardwood gates are made from Meranti, Iroko and Idigbo.
All our hardwood gates are supplied in a natural state for finishing by others.
Because timber is a natural product it is not possible to guarantee the colours
or shades of the timbers used.
It is very important that a protective coating is applied prior to the gates being hung.
Once the gates are hung it is important that the appropriate finish coatings are
applied without delay.

A good quality primer undercoat, followed by two coats of an exterior quality top coat,
e.g. Dulux or Farrow & Ball. |

We recommend Sikkens systems, or similar, for our hardwood gates.
A Sikkens Cetol HLS base coat followed by two coats (minimum) of Cetol Filter 7 or Cetol THB.
